Engineering Team Manager
Mr. Friend has more than 18 years of experience in a variety of land development projects. Experience includes educational projects, single-family, multi-family, and site development projects, including all aspects of design, permitting, project management, and construction administration. Additionally, he is experienced in client relations, feasibility analysis, cost estimating, land planning and coordination, survey coordination, invoicing and collections.
He is proficient in all aspects of planning coordination and engineering design, as well as interfacing with clients and regulatory and governmental agencies.
Mr. Friend has served as Project Manager and Design Engineer on multiple educational projects located in and around Austin and the Central Texas area including Dripping Springs, Lakeway, Round Rock, Liberty Hill, Lampasas, Waco, and Killeen. Projects included the civil/site design of several new schools and school addition projects such as:
The design of the new Pearson Ranch Road and England Elementary School for the Round Rock Independent School District’s School Project in Williamson County and the City of Austin’s Extra Territorial Jurisdiction.
His experience on these projects consisted of the design of streets, drainage, grading, detention, water quality, and water and wastewater systems in accordance with applicable governmental regulations. His role included coordination with developers, contractors, municipalities, Municipal Utility Districts, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Texas Department of Transportation, and the Federal Emergency Management Administration.
In addition to managing the activities of the project teams, his responsibilities included monitoring project schedules and budgets, and preparing bid and contract documents.
